And Then There Were Three Of Us. Here’s My List Of Baby Essentials All New Mamas Need To Know

When I was pregnant, I always told myself that I must enjoy this time. It’s the most beautiful experience one can go through and is over before you know it. It’s crazy how time flies – I remember the first month, the first kick, the gender reveal scan, and then the moment my baby Luna arrived earlier this month. It’s truly the most surreal feeling a woman can experience.

I took pleasure in all the little moments, from walking around the block to prenatal yoga to shopping for Luna before she was born. And over the last months, I’ve managed to gather some maternal tricks up my sleeve that I’d love to share with all expectant mothers.

I stocked up on good quality onesies, pyjamas, gloves, hats, socks and overalls well in advance. Your baby needs warmth and a lot of comfort. And while I don’t focus on brands, I made sure I bought superior quality fabrics to ensure my baby’s comfort. I also prepared all the essentials  for my baby bag, so that I didn’t have to rush at the last minute.

Think about essentials like diapers, wipes and organic baby skincare products. A baby’s skin is so sensitive and it’s crucial to cleanse it and keep it hydrated as much as possible. It’s best to pick products that are cruelty- and paraben-free.

In addition to a car seat and a stroller that I bought after a lot of research, I got a super cute and useful pillow for my baby, which is called ‘Sleepyhead’. It’s a pillow for babies that helps position them next to you if you’re lying down on a couch. It’s scary for me to leave my baby in a crib or in another room during the initial months, so I’ve bought a face to me cot that I can attach to my bed.

One product that I stocked up pretty heavy on? Soothers. You never know which one will become your baby’s favorite. I also invested in a good breast pump because I’m breastfeeding my baby. It also helps as I can breast pump and have my baby’s feed ready beforehand if I have any work commitments.

I think no one is ever 100% ready before the baby comes and when you meet your special angel, things just make sense and fall into place. I used the last few days with a bump, just soaking up this experience and remaining positive and happy. When the time comes, you’ll know what to do. Always trust your maternal instincts,

Love,

Rawan
