After a six-year hiatus, Amman Design Week opened its doors to the public on Friday.
Her Majesty Queen Rania, joined by her daughter, Her Royal Highness Princess Iman bint Abdullah II, launched the fourth edition of Amman Design Week (ADW) on Tuesday at the Ras El Ain Hangar in Amman, ahead of the opening to visitors this Friday.
Princess Iman, who is part of the ADW Advisory Circle, looked radiant as she made her first public appearance since welcoming her twin daughters, Talia and Rania, on 14 August 2026. She and Queen Rania, joined by other members of the Royal Family, toured the Hangar Exhibition with ADW co-directors Sarah Hejazin and Bisher Tabbaa.
For the occasion, Queen Rania wore an elegant Alaïa cropped leather jacket paired with Vivienne Westwood culottes and a Bottega Veneta bag—the perfect transitional look for autumn. Meanwhile, Princess Iman opted for a simpler yet polished look, wearing a brown HERSKIND Indiana oversized tie blazer with matching trousers and Acne Studios ankle boots.
Amman Design Week 2026
Held under the theme ‘Accumulations,’ this year’s event brings together 220 designers, makers, and innovators from Jordan, the region, and around the world, presenting their creative collections and works across 59 participating spaces and 204 events. The event will run from October 2 through October 17, with all exhibitions and programs free and open to the public.
The theme of ‘Accumulations’ looks at how design takes shape and evolves over time and how the objects people live with are shaped by their daily practices, material environments, and cultural memories. It also explores how design influences quality of life, impacting processes such as city planning, urban transformation, manufacturing, and environmental protection. The installations on display include the works of designers and artists from Jordan, Palestine, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Egypt, India, and Armenia.
Founded by Queen Rania in 2016, this year’s edition of ADW will take place in venues and participating spaces across Ras El Ain, Jabal Al Lweibdeh, Jabal Amman, Iraq Al Amir, and, for the first time, Aqaba. Held in partnership with the Greater Amman Municipality, its wide-ranging program includes exhibitions, workshops, talks, student and community events, and citywide cultural activities.
ADW provides an immersive experience in local and regional design and culture, aiming to establish Amman as a regional hub for innovation and expression. In addition to its two-week event, it offers year-round learning programs aiming to empower current and aspiring designers and craftspeople.
