Inside Fall 2026’s Unexpected Color Palette

Gone are the days when neutral, earthy tones defined the fall season. The 2026 Fall runway embraced unexpected tones and shades, claiming high-contrast colours as the season’s ultimate style cheat code. The colours of this season are optimistic, sophisticated, and delightfully bold.

Here are six colours from the Fall 2026 runway we absolutely loved.

Green

As opposed to the conventional earthy green associated with autumn, designers experimented with various tones and shades of green, seen across the runways in various silhouettes. From Balenciaga’s deep green cut-out dresses and statement jackets to Dior’s forest green voluminous tops and layered skirts, the colour green was reinvented for the Fall 2026 runways.

Rust

Moving away from the obvious brown, designers chose rust as an alternative, appearing throughout the runways in relaxed fits as well as elegant cinched silhouettes. From Missoni’s statement outerwear and Chanel’s embroidered set to Saint Laurent’s elegant lace jackets, rust made its way onto the runway in unexpected ways.

Red

Bold, bright, and unapologetically loud, red was the ultimate accent colour on the Fall 2026 runway. Draped in modest silhouettes and appearing as statement accessories, red claimed a spot in many of the designer collections, making it the season’s choice for elevated styling.

Pink

A contrast to the deep, darker shades, bubblegum pink added a soft touch to the collections. Appearing in both cinched-waist, geometric silhouettes and flowy, frilled sets, pink brought balance to the collections with its familiar, comforting touch.

Magenta

Pleasantly surprising and distinct, magenta appeared on the Fall 2026 runways in unique silhouettes. From Chloé’s voluminous frills to Stella McCartney’s satin interpretations, magenta added its own edge to the collections.

Mustard Yellow

Bringing a playful edge to the runways, mustard yellow was seen across geometric silhouettes and statement outerwear. A warmer and bolder alternative to butter yellow, mustard yellow is also one of the coveted shades on the runway this season.
