Downtown Design Is Returning This November But With A Twist. Here’s Everything You Need To Know

The next stop in the international design fair circuit? Dubai. Downtown Design, the region’s leading design trade event, has announced a hybrid program for 2020, which will bring the creative community together across both digital and physical platforms.

Running from 9-14 November alongside Dubai Design Week, the fair will comprise a conceptual exhibition for regional architects and interior designers, a digital fair, an online talks program, and bespoke physical brand experiences.

At the core of Downtown Design programming is The Shape of Things to Come, a conceptual exhibition that invites regional architects and designers to reimagine life in a post-pandemic world. The selected concepts will be showcased as a multi-media exhibition at Dubai Design District.

As part of the facelift, Downtown Design will also include a digital fair where design professionals and enthusiasts will exhibit their latest collections. The idea is to help participating brands, country pavilions and designers position themselves as key players in the creative landscape of the Middle East and beyond.

You’ll also experience an online talks program called ‘The Forum’, which will bring together international and regional experts to meditate on the new value system in the realms of art and design and discuss the way forward.

What else? Whilst the digital sphere remains pivotal in terms of bringing international communities and netizens together, Downtown Design will also curate opportunities for brands looking to reconnect on the ground. Pop-up installations and capsule showcases will take place in collaboration with Dubai Design Week, with participants benefiting from Downtown Design’s B2B program and the opportunity to get direct access to key trade and consumer audiences.

We’ll see you there!
