How To Travel Like Jay-Z And Beyoncé

From yacht-filled summers on the Amalfi Coast to private Caribbean escapes, we discover how the power couple travel the world.

After making a rare family appearance at this week’s Met Gala alongside daughter Blue Ivy, Beyoncé and Jay-Z once again reminded the world that their lifestyle is a category entirely of its own. While much is written about the fashion, the jewellery and the music, the way the couple travels is perhaps often kept more private.

Over the years, the pair have explored the world, journeying between ultra-exclusive island resorts, culturally rich cities and luxury yacht escapes, often opting for destinations that allow them to disappear from public view. That got us thinking: “Where do they really go to get away from it all?” From romantic escapes to family holidays, here’s how to travel like Jay-Z and Beyoncé.

Amalfi Coast

Italy has long been part of Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s travel world, particularly the glamour of the Amalfi Coast. The couple are known for spending summers sailing through the Mediterranean aboard private yachts, hopping between destinations like Capri and Positano while embracing the coast’s effortlessly cinematic atmosphere.

What makes the Amalfi Coast so appealing contradictions. One moment you are pulling into a glamorous marina lined with designer boutiques, the next you are eating freshly caught seafood at a tiny family-run restaurant overlooking the sea.

To travel like Beyoncé and Jay-Z here means slowing down completely. Spend days at sea rather than rushing through an itinerary, stop in hidden coves inaccessible by car and prioritise long lunches, late dinners and quiet luxury over packed sightseeing schedules.

Cuba

When Beyoncé and Jay-Z travelled to Cuba for their anniversary several years ago, the trip stood out because of its cultural focus. The couple embraced Havana’s energy, architecture and music scene, choosing a destination rooted in creativity and history.
Travelling here for them is about immersing themselves in the culture. Staying in intimate heritage properties, spending evenings listening to live jazz and finding time to wander slowly through the city’s streets.

Iceland

Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s travels have also taken them to Iceland, where the appeal lies in a complete peace: black-sand beaches, volcanic landscapes, and a sense of total isolation from the outside world.

Iceland offers a quieter form of luxury, built around nature and privacy. Here, the focus shifts towards wellness, stillness and reconnecting with the landscape itself. I imagine them spending their days in remote lodges, geothermal spas isolated spots.

Tahiti

For a true escape, French Polynesia is one of the world’s most coveted destinations. Beyoncé and Jay-Z have previously stayed at The Brando, the famously secluded resort located on the private island once owned by Marlon Brando.

Unlike more traditional luxury resorts, The Brando feels completely disconnected from modern life. Villas are hidden within tropical greenery, beaches remain untouched, and sustainability sits at the core of the experience. The perfect destination for a complete reset.

Caribbean Islands

The Caribbean remains one of the couple’s most consistent escapes, offering laid-back luxury that perfectly suits family travel. Whether aboard yachts or relaxing in a private villa, Beyoncé and Jay-Z have often gravitated towards islands where life revolves around beaches, water and the outdoors.

Destinations such as Saint Barthélemy and Jamaica embody that effortless blend of exclusivity and ease. Here, days begin with swimming in warm turquoise water and end with long dinners outdoors beneath the stars.

To travel like the couple in the Caribbean is to embrace simplicity. Choosing intimate resorts or private properties, prioritising outdoor living, and making no plans… sometimes the most luxurious thing of all is having absolutely nowhere to be.
