Sharjah’s creative pursuits know no bounds and the latest feather in its coveted cap is being included in UNESCO’s list of Creative Cities 2019. Among the list of 65 cities are Beirut and Muharraq for their literary and design marvels, respectively. Sharjah has undertaken a vast spectrum of projects, including the Sharjah Biennial for contemporary arts, the Sharjah Museums Authority’s many sites, the Islamic Arts Festival, Al Noor Art Island, Sharjah Art Foundation, and Irthi Contemporary Crafts Council.

Moreover, the Sharjah triennial will launch on 9 November and will span over three months, another cultural feat.
