Everything you need to know about Prince Hussein and Princess Rajwa’s trip to London

Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Al Hussein and Princess Rajwa Al Hussein of Jordan are on their first overseas trip since the arrival of their daughter, Princess Iman. During their private visit to the UK, they met with another well-known royal couple, Prince Abdul Mateen and Princess Anisha Rosnah of Brunei, earlier today.

This marks the first public meeting between the two royal couples. Prince Abdul Mateen attended the royal wedding of Prince Al Hussein and Princess Rajwa in 2023.

The relationship between Prince Al Hussein and Prince Abdul Mateen, the son of the Sultan of Brunei goes way back, as they both attended Sandhurst together, and their families share a close friendship.

The Crown Prince shared a photo of the meeting on his official Instagram, captioning it: “With our dear friends Prince Abdul Mateen and Princess Anisha Rosnah of Brunei.”

Although Prince Al Hussein and Princess Rajwa were unable to attend the wedding of Prince Abdul Mateen and Princess Anisha, the personal videographer of Prince Hussein was present and filmed the wedding in Jan 2024.

On Monday Morning, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein of Jordan met his friend, whom he described as a dear friend, His Royal Highness William, the Prince of Wale. The meeting took place at Windsor Castle.

The heirs took to social media to share photos and videos from the visit. HRH Crown Prince Al Hussein said, “With my dear friend, His Royal Highness, The Prince of Wales, at Windsor Castle today,” while HRH Prince William wrote, “Welcoming The Crown Prince of Jordan, Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, to Windsor this morning 🇯🇴.”

During their meeting, the two discussed relations between their countries. The ties between the two royal families span generations.

Prince William made an official visit to Jordan in 2018, where he was warmly welcomed by Crown Prince Al Hussein. The duo carried out a number of engagements together and were seen relaxing at Beit Al Urdun Palace, watching the 2018 World Cup.

The Prince and Princess of Wales were guests at the royal wedding of Crown Prince Al Hussein and Princess Rajwa in June 2023. The Princess of Wales, who lived in Amman, Jordan, for two and a half years as a young child, was particularly excited to attend the celebration.

In August 2024, Crown Prince Al Hussein and Princess Rajwa welcomed their first child, Princess Iman. The royal family was overjoyed by her arrival, with Queen Rania describing the occasion as “the best of 2024” during a recent visit. Additionally, the royal family is preparing to welcome another new member, as Queen Rania announced over the weekend that her daughter, Princess Iman, is expecting her first child.
