The red carpet at the 79th British Academy Film Awards at London’s Royal Festival Hall drew some of the most stylish men in film this year, where classic tailoring met fresh interpretations of formalwear.
From timeless tuxedos to subtle modern twists, these were a few of the standout looks from this year’s BAFTAs.

Prince William
Prince William, President of BAFTA, departed from his usual monochrome tailoring and chose an Emporio Armani velvet evening jacket in a rich shade of burgundy. The color echoed the velvet belt on the Princess of Wales’s pink Gucci gown, creating a coordinated look. The jacket featured classic black grosgrain lapels and was paired with a crisp white shirt and a traditional black silk bow tie.

Paul Mescal
Paul Mescal made his official red-carpet debut alongside his partner, Gracie Abrams. For the occasion, he chose a custom Prada ensemble that leaned into a pared-back, slightly relaxed aesthetic with an off-white Henley-style shirt. He completed the look with a Cartier Tank Basculante watch, adding a classic finishing touch.

The night’s big winner, Robert Aramayo, who won Best Actor for One Battle After Another, kept it classic but impeccably executed. He wore A Dior suit that was a masterclass in modern proportions – slimmer through the leg with a slightly more generous, structured shoulder. He wore a Ballon Bleu de Cartier, which style editors noted as a “winner’s watch” for its universally elegant, rounded case.

Murphy stayed true to his minimalist aesthetic while experimenting with texture. Dressed in a head-to-toe Ferragamo ensemble in deep charcoal, he opted for a matte wool finish instead of the traditional silk lapel, giving the suit a more understated, grounded feel. Cillian Murphy wore an Omega De Ville Prestige in stainless steel to go with the outfit.

Leonardo DiCaprio
Leonardo DiCaprio, who was nominated as Best Actor for his role in One Battle After Another, stayed true to his reputation and wore a classic Dior tuxedo. While many others opted for sculptural or oversized fits, his was tailored to a slim, “timeless signature” silhouette. He wore the suit with a Rolex Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona. Specifically, he was seen with a model featuring a black dial, which perfectly complemented the silk lapels of his Dior tuxedo.

Patrick Dempsey
Patrick Dempsey, attending as a presenter at the 2026 BAFTAs, leaned into classic, understated luxury. He walked the red carpet alongside his wife, Jillian, and his daughter, Talula wearing a custom Brunello Cucinelli tuxedo that prioritized high-end Italian craftsmanship over the night’s more experimental trends. He completed the ensemble with a perfectly tied black silk bow tie and, most notably, a pair of dark-tinted sunglasses.

Timothée Chalamet
Timothée Chalamet arrived in a custom black Givenchy tuxedo by Sarah Burton, combining traditional black tie with contemporary edge.
