During the week, several members of Dubai’s ruling family arrived in the UK to attend the graduation ceremony of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.
HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defence of the UAE, was among the first to attend. He was joined by his brothers, Their Highnesses Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Finance; Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council; and Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Ports and Borders Security Council.
The proud uncles beamed with pride as they watched their nephew, Sheikh Mohammed, graduate today. He was presented with the prestigious International Sword of Honour, awarded to the best international cadet in this intake. The sword, sponsored by the State of Kuwait, is given in memory of Sheikh Ali Al Sabah. Additionally, Sheikh Mohammed received the International Award, recognising the top international cadet for outstanding military, academic, and practical scores. This award is sponsored by the State of Qatar.
Sheikh Mohammed’s exceptional achievement of earning both top international awards highlights his remarkable performance during his time at Sandhurst.
Although Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid did not attend the graduation, he took to social media to express his pride and joy in his grandson’s achievement.
It’s a special occasion for the Royal Family, as they are not only celebrating Sheikh Mohammed’s graduation but also marking a significant milestone—he is the first grandson of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, to graduate from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.
Sheikh Mohammed is the only son of the late Sheikh Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the eldest son of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai and Sheikha Hind Al Maktoum.
