Under the Marrakesh Sky: Louis Vuitton Launches the Mythica High Jewelry Collection

Louis Vuitton chose Kasbah d’If in Marrakesh as the backdrop for the launch of its new Mythica High Jewelry Collection, and the evening delivered on every promise the location made.

The guest list read like a careful curation of the Maison’s most enduring faces. Ana de Armas arrived in a white long dress with black satin sandals, her neck dressed in the Maestria necklace from the Virtuosity Collection, set with three octagonal-cut emeralds totalling over 14 carats alongside matching earrings and a ring set with a 1.91-carat emerald-cut stone. Green, it turned out, was a recurring note of the evening.

Léa Seydoux

Léa Seydoux took a different direction entirely, choosing a dark blue suit with black satin pumps and the Motion suite in sapphires, including earrings set with two cushion-cut stones of just over 9 carats each and a ring carrying an 11.35-carat cushion-cut sapphire. The depth of the stones against the severity of the suiting was precisely the kind of contrast Louis Vuitton does so well.

Alicia Vikander
Phoebe Dynevor

Alicia Vikander kept to diamonds and white gold, wearing three pieces from the Awakened Hands, Awakened Minds Collection including the Frequence necklace and Gravité bracelet, a cooler, more architectural choice that felt entirely her own. Phoebe Dynevor brought warmth to the evening in pale pink silk, balancing the softness of the dress against the weight of a Gravité necklace set with a 27.20-carat cabochon-cut sapphire.

Victoria Song
Emma Laird
Kōki

Victoria Song wore a cut-out black dress with black satin shoes and chose emeralds again, the Monumental necklace centred on a 12.84-carat oval-cut stone from the Virtuosity Collection. Emma Laird and Kōki both wore pieces from the Phenomenal line within Awakened Hands, Awakened Minds, with Kōki’s necklace featuring a 7.44-carat emerald-cut emerald set against velvet champagne. Mina Shin, in satin pink, was the evening’s only ambassador for rubies, wearing the Protection necklace set with three cushion-cut stones alongside rings featuring the house’s signature LV Monogram Star cut diamond.

The Mythica collection takes its name from mythology and the idea of jewels as talismanic objects, pieces that carry meaning beyond their carats. In Marrakesh, surrounded by architecture that has its own relationship with richness, pattern, and permanence, the launch was more like a homecoming.
