Combining the UAE’s rich traditions and India’s flair for the art of jewelry-making is Qantara, the latest collection by Amira Jewels, a subsidiary of India’s famed Joyalukkas group. The UAE-based jewelry brand has launched this new collection as a lyrical tribute to the arches of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi.
Sculptural in design, the collection features necklaces, earrings, rings, bracelets and bangles, in rose, white and yellow gold, all featuring intricate detailing that brings to mind the architectural marvel that’s the Sheikh Zayed Mosque. Dedicated to Arab women who embrace modern design while showing reverence to tradition, the collection comprises 15 pieces, all embellished with gold and diamonds. Its details and colorways bring to mind the marble-cut crevices of the UAE’s most iconic landmark, beloved by locals and frequented by tourists from around the world.
“I’ve always been intrigued by the intricate arches I see in Arabesque architecture, and the magnificent arches of Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque truly inspired me,” says John Paul Alukkas, Managing Director of Amira Jewels, and the creative force behind the collection. “For me, it’s a testament of the beauty and culture of a wonderful era gone by. I’ve created our Qantara collection to celebrate this beauty. With Qantara, we’re connecting the current generation of jewelry lovers with the rich traditions and culture of Arabia.”
By giving traditional Arabic forms and Indian artistry a modern twist, the collection reflects the wonderful coming together of two cultures and palates that share a common love of jewelry. The collection is currently available at Amira showrooms in Dubai Festival City Mall, Dubai, Marina Mall, Abu Dhabi, and Manar Mall, Ras Al Khaimah.
