The most luxurious watches worn by the region’s Royals

While Queen Rania has embraced modern minimalism with her Apple Watch, other royals continue to favour the artistry of traditional timepieces. From the likes of Franck Muller’s daring creations, Chaumet’s rare masterpieces, and the timeless elegance of Cartier.

From the exquisite watch collection of Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Chairperson of Qatar Foundation, one piece stands out. Last May, she was seen wearing Cartier’s “Réflexion de Cartier” open bracelet watch, a striking blend of high jewellery and watchmaking. Described as a piece of watch haute couture, it is a perfectly fitting choice for the queen of haute couture herself.

Since making her first public appearance, Sayyida Al Jalila Ahad, the First Lady of Oman, has been seen wearing a selection of iconic timepieces: from limited-edition creations by Chopard to timeless classics by Cartier. One of her most remarkable pieces is the Chaumet Creative Complication Colombes, a rare masterpiece of which only 12 models exist.

Her Highness Sayyida Meyyan Al Said, the Chairwoman of the Oman Design Association, was recently seen wearing a truly exceptional piece, the Franc Muller Double Mystery Ruby, a unique creation in white gold adorned with radiant diamonds and rubies, a standout piece.

During her recent trip to Paris, Sheikha Bodour Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees and President of American University of Sharjah, was seen wearing a true classic, the Panthère de Cartier in gold. A timeless design, the watch has become one of her signature pieces, frequently spotted on her wrist at many of her recent engagements.

Entrepreneur Sheikha Abrar Al Sabah is rarely seen without a watch on her wrist. With a discerning eye for timepieces, she knows exactly how to select pieces that make a statement. The Kuwaiti producer was spotted wearing the iconic Cartier Baignoire K18WG Diamond Leather, a design favoured by royals and Hollywood’s leading stars.
