As we celebrate Mother’s Day on March 21 each year, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein of Jordan never fails to take to Instagram to celebrate Her Majesty Queen Rania. He has never been shy about showing his love and admiration for his mother.
From the tender moments he shares to the heartfelt dedications that make us pause our scrolling, we look back at the moments that moved us most.
Last year, Mother’s Day was extra special for the royal family, marking Queen Rania’s first as a grandmother and Princess Rajwa’s first as a mother. Prince Hussein shared a tender Instagram post, capturing a quiet moment with the Queen and his wife, both with Princess Iman. He wrote: “To my beloved mother and my loving wife, your presence fills our lives with joy, and your love is the true meaning of giving. Happy Mother’s Day.”
Sharing a photo of his mother, Queen Rania, surrounded by Jordanian women, Prince Hussein captioned: “May your smile always shine bright and your kindness always shine through. Wishing you and mothers across Jordan a Happy Mother’s Day.”
Reflecting on the lessons he has learned from Queen Rania, Jordan’s Crown Prince captioned his Mother’s Day post with a photo of the Queen surrounded by Jordanian children from a previous engagement: “Wishing my mother and every mother a Happy #MothersDay! You all teach us volumes in sacrifice and selfless giving.”
“Wishing my mother Queen Rania and all the mothers out there a Happy #MothersDay. May God bless you all and fill your days with happiness and joy #OurJordan.” With these heartfelt words and prayers, the Prince celebrated his mother and mothers everywhere, honouring their love, and guidance.
In 2016, Prince Al Hussein celebrated Mother’s Day in a truly thoughtful way through the King Hussein Cancer Foundation’s ‘Gift of Giving’ program, which allows donations to be made to cancer patients in someone else’s name, accompanied by a personalised card. On Mother’s Day, Queen Rania received her card and shared it on Instagram, writing: “Proud to be the mother of a compassionate and caring young man.”
