Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab is more than a new chapter in Jumeirah’s hospitality scene – it is a celebration of Arabian heritage, artistry, and the spirit of luxury reimagined. Rooted in the philosophy that a true sense of place is woven through culture, conversation, and craft, the resort has collaborated with two visionary Arab artists to create an experience that feels deeply personal and undeniably authentic.
Honouring tradition while embracing contemporary expression, Emirati textile artist Feryal Al Bastaki and Lebanese designer Nadine Kanso infuse the property with their creative narratives, bridging past and present through bespoke works that guests can admire, experience, and even take home, leaving the city’s creatives eagerly awaiting their first check-in.
A storyteller through fabric, Feryal Al Bastaki, is renowned for preserving and modernising traditional Emirati textile techniques. Her work at Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab reflects the artistry of Talli, Sadu, and Al Khous weaving, patterns deeply embedded in the UAE’s cultural identity. Drawing inspiration from childhood memories of Dubai’s historic districts and its coastal landscapes, she has created Flow, a watercolour composition that captures the rhythmic movement of the sea.
This signature piece is brought to life beyond the canvas, translated into an exclusive collection of silk scarves, twillies, and pocket squares, allowing guests to carry a piece of the Emirates’ artisanal heritage with them. Designed in harmony with the resort’s architecture and its serene Gulfside setting, her work is a tactile reminder of Dubai’s evolving story – one rooted in legacy yet forever in motion.
Nadine Kanso’s artistry is synonymous with bold expressions of Arabic identity. As the founder of the jewellery house Bil Arabi, her work reimagines calligraphy into timeless, wearable art. At Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab, her vision extends beyond jewellery into the realm of fine porcelain, creating an exclusive collection in collaboration with French porcelain house Bernardaud.
At the heart of the design is the word Maraheb, a fusion of Marhaba (welcome) and Hubb (love) – a poetic embodiment of Middle Eastern hospitality. Her sweeping brushstrokes, fluid and dynamic, mirror the movement of water, a homage to the maritime essence of Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab. Each handcrafted plate and cup is more than just tableware; it is an invitation to gather, to indulge, and to celebrate the beauty of connection.
At Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab, every space tells a story, and every detail reflects Jumeirah’s rich heritage. Through these artistic collaborations, the resort reaffirms its commitment to being a majlis of global culture, conversation, and connection.
