This summer, from the lacquered depths of a Roman night to the haze of a tropical afternoon, these six new fragrances speak to different moods and different women — but each one, in its own way, is worth wearing with conviction.
YSL BEAUTY LIBRE BERRY CRUSH
The Libre universe has always understood a particular kind of feminine confidence that is unapologetic, polished, slightly dangerous. Berry Crush takes that DNA and leans into summer with real conviction. Raspberry opens things with freshness rather than sugar, followed by the signature orange blossom and lavender heart, and a hint of coconut that keeps it from becoming austere. The jewel-red bottle is suitably covetable. Key notes: Raspberry, orange blossom, lavender, coconut, musk, amber.

VALENTINO DONNA BORN IN ROMA PURPLE MELANCHOLIA
Conceived around the idea of “who is your purple” — the person whose presence draws out the very best in you — this limited edition is housed in the iconic Rockstud bottle reimagined in deep aubergine with black leather detailing. The fragrance is a fruity chypre that opens with a rush of plum and dark berries before settling into osmanthus and a rich Madagascan vanilla base. Vampy, nocturnal, and genuinely complex. Key notes: Plum, osmanthus, Madagascan vanilla.

BALMAIN DESTIN DE BALMAIN
Perfumer Quentin Bisch has built a reputation for finding the exact point where elegance and desire intersect. Destin locates it with precision: a vivid strawberry opening, brightened by pink pepper, that evolves through peony and lily before anchoring in creamy sandalwood and patchouli. The refillable bottle, gold-capped, labyrinthine, is a piece of design in its own right. “It has an irresistible electric energy,” says Bisch, and for once, the copy tells the truth. Key notes: Strawberry, pink pepper, peony, lily, sandalwood, patchouli, akigalawood.

MIU MIU FLEUR DE LAIT
Miu Miu’s fragrance line has always operated in a register that is simultaneously girlish and knowing. Fleur de Lait leans into summer without apology: mango and coconut milk arrive first, tropical and slightly lactonic, before osmanthus — fruity-floral, tinged with apricot — brings an unexpected softness. The result is a scent that feels like a sun-warmed afternoon somewhere far away, with just enough sophistication to stop it tipping into souvenir-shop territory. Key notes: Mango, coconut milk, osmanthus, apricot.

HERMÈS HERMESSENCE MUSC PALLIDA EAU DE PARFUM
Christine Nagel conceived this as liquid gold, and the metaphor holds. The newest addition to the storied Hermessence line translates the original Musc Pallida essence into an eau de parfum — Iris Pallida, among the rarest materials in perfumery, enveloped in warm, caressing musk, unfolding on skin with understated radiance. The bottle is set in orange-yellow lacquer and finished with an ivory Swift leather cap, hand-stitched in the house’s signature saddle stitch. A fragrance for those who understand the particular luxury of restraint. Key notes: Iris Pallida, aldehydes, musk.

LOUIS VUITTON ELVES (MONOGRAM EDITION)
To mark the 130th anniversary of its iconic monogram, Louis Vuitton has released collector’s editions of three signature fragrances. eLVes, the most luminously summery of the trio, pairs centifolia rose, extracted via CO₂ for maximum aromatic fidelity, with the transparent brightness of lily of the valley and a quietly grounding patchouli. The hand-embossed monogram bottle is, in itself, a collector’s object; the fragrance inside justifies the attention. Key notes: CO₂-extracted centifolia rose, lily of the valley, patchouli.
