A new season is always a good excuse to rethink our wardrobes, and this fall there is plenty to choose from when it comes to shoes. Familiar favourites are returning with a fresh update, from kitten heels and loafers to rich brown suede and animal print. These are six of the styles we’ll be wearing this season. 

Kitten Heels

The Kitten heel isn’t going anywhere just yet. Elegant but far more wearable than a six-inch heel, it has quickly become one of those styles that work with almost anything. Saint Laurent’s slingback keeps things sleek with a pointed toe, slim heel and olive toned finish. Style them with tailored trousers during the days, then pair them with a dress for dinner. 

Mules 

Bottega Veneta – Blink Flat Mules

Mules are sticking around for another season, and this fall the simplest styles are some of our favourites. Bottega Veneta’s Blink mules bring the house’s signature woven leather to an easy slip-on shape, giving the everyday flat a more elevated feel. Pair them with relaxed tailoring, wide leg trousers or a long skirt for an effortless daytime look. 

Animal Print 

Animal Print is making its way back into our wardrobes, with leopard once again taking centre stage. Manolo Blahnik’s Carolyne mules combine the statement print with an elegant pointed toe and slim heel, making them surprisingly easy to wear. Keep the rest of the outfit simple and let the shoes add a little personality to the look. 

T-Straps 

The T-strap is having a moment again, and this season’s versions feel much more modern. Ferragamo keeps the silhouette sleep with delicate straps, a slim heel and gold chain detailing running along the centre of the shoe. Wear them with a simple evening dress or use them to add a more feminine finish to tailored trousers. 

Brown Suede 

Few things feel quite as suited to fall as brown suede. Warm shades of caramel and chocolate bring something softer to the season’s natural palette, and Loewe’s Pebble Soft ballerinas are an easy way to wear the trend. The soft suede and gathered detailing give the classic ballerina a relaxed feel, with the gold Pebble detail adds a subtle finishing touch. Pair them with straight-leg jeans and a lightweight shirt, or a coat on cooler evenings. 

Loafers 

Loafers may be a wardrobe stable, but this season there is room to have a little more fun with them. Chanel swaps the usual black or brown for glossy red leather, while the block heel gives the classic shape a more dressed-up feel. Wear them as a pop of colour with a neutral look or pair them with denim for an easy way to make an everyday outfit feel a little more polished.
