Lo and behold, the biggest UK-born literary festival is coming to Abu Dhabi next year. Running from 24-27 February 2020, the four-day event will feature talks, spoken word, comedy, theater and music, with events to be held across venues in the UAE capital, including Manarat Al Saadiyat.

At a press announcement earlier today, the UAE’s Minister of Tolerance, His Excellency Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahyan, shared how the festival is testament to the longstanding  relationship between the UAE and the UK. Also speaking at the occasion was Cristina La Roche, the International Director of the Hay Festival, who shared how the event will shine the spotlight on creatives from all literary fields. 

The Hay Festival began in Wales in 1987 and has since seen 4.5 million visitors in 30 locations around the world. We eagerly await its launch in our very own Abu Dhabi. 160 days to go.
