Previously showcasing her work around the globe in London, Milan and Hong Kong, artist Deniz Sagdic, renowned for re-purposing waste materials to create masterpieces, has joined forces with the Rixos Premium Dubai in a collaboration that celebrates sustainability – an initiative that lies at the heart of the hotel’s ethos.
Titled, Ready-ReMade, the exhibition runs until August 15 and visitors can discover 14 of Deniz’s magnificent art works.
“Hailing from Mersin, Turkey, she began her art education at Mersin University Faculty of Fine Arts in 1999, graduating in 2003. Since then, she has featured in many international and national projects, gaining acclaim across the globe for her inventive artistic creations and outside the box thinking. Bringing her talents to Dubai, and Rixos Premium Dubai in particular, is an exciting step for Deniz as the city is a hub for creative expression and individualism.” The hotel shares.
Showcasing an amalgamation of classical techniques and conceptual art, Deniz skilfully breathes new life into everyday objects that would otherwise be discarded, giving them a new function with their own unique perspective, while advocating environmentally friendly approaches and promoting sustainability.
Human faces feature prominently in Deniz Sagdic’s artwork, as she believes they possess the power to communicate emotions and thoughts effectively. By combining waste materials with human faces, Deniz aims to remind us of our true essence and challenge societal notions of consumption.
The Rixos Premium’s lobby will be transformed into a gallery that invites visitors to explore the depths of Deniz’s creative mind and reflect on their own relationship with the environment.
