How Ouronyx is redefining Dubai’s cosmetic industry with mindful beauty practices

Dubai’s aesthetic industry is synonymous with beautiful results, but few clinics prioritise ethical and holistic wellness the way Ouronyx in Business Bay does. Co-founded by Ida Banek (who has a background in psychology), Ouronyx is more than just another high-end clinic. It offers a revolutionary approach, combining science, integrity, and a passion for championing natural beauty – a truly unique service in the wellness landscape.

Offering treatments for both skin rejuvenation and hair vitality, the clinic is one of the first to use state-of-the-art 3D visualisation technology. In pursuit of giving clients an accurate analysis and treatment plan, the doctors can assess your wrinkle depth, volume loss, and skin texture with precision.

These results then empower clients to make decisions based on transparent scientific data. Similarly, for those seeking hair restoration, Ouronyx offers trichoscopy scans, allowing the clinic’s medical experts to design personalised hair-growth solutions.

A new approach

If there’s one thing that is abundantly clear about Ouronyx, it’s that it challenges the conventional aesthetic model we might be used to. “We are different because we’ve established this concept of mindful aesthetics as a guiding platform for everything we do,” Co-founder Ida Banek explains to Villa 88.

What is ‘mindful aesthetics’, you might ask? “It’s about creating a space that allows clients to decompress, self-reflect, and have meaningful conversations before making any aesthetic decisions,” Ida says, noting that the company prioritises their clientele’s health over beauty. In an industry that puts an emphasis on volume, Ouronyx prioritise mindful consultations over hitting a certain number of clients they see in a day.

Restoring confidence

Ida’s personal journey into aesthetics actually inspired the philosophy of Ouronyx. “I was in my mid-40s, and very much against Botox and fillers. But life happens. After years of extreme corporate stress, I started seeing accelerated ageing in my face. A small Botox intervention shocked me with the amount of confidence it restored,” Ida shares. “That’s when I realised aesthetics isn’t just about beauty – it’s actually a tool to help people regain balance and control in their lives.”

This is woven into Ouronyx’s mission, as they provide aesthetic treatments that restore confidence, mental well-being, and a sense of self to their clients.

Even the name of the clinic embodies the principles it was founded on. “I believe we all have a public face, the golden, polished version we show to the world, and a private, more mysterious and vulnerable face that we tend to protect and show only to a chosen, trusted circle,” Ida explains. “‘Oro’ means gold in Portuguese, and ‘onyx’ is a dark, precious stone. So, Ouronyx represents the harmony between both our faces.”

Ethical aesthetic medicine

In an industry that often pushes treatments through persistent social media adverts, Ouronyx also stands out for its ethics-first approach. “I see young clients in their early 20s coming in, asking what they should do. I’m proud that our doctors sometimes tell them, ‘Buy a really good SPF and a plane ticket. Go see the world, enjoy yourself, and come back in ten years,” Ida elaborates. “Not every clinic has the integrity to say no when it’s the right thing to do.”

Safety over profit

Unlike many high-volume clinics, Ouronyx limits its doctors to ten clients per day to ensure every treatment is performed with the highest level of care. “What scares me is hearing practitioners say, ‘I injected 40 clients today.’ That’s not safe,” Ida warns. “You’d never hear a heart surgeon brag about operating on ten patients in a day.”

This dedication to safety is reinforced through data-driven, 90-minute consultations, where patients undergo personality tests, skin assessments, and medical evaluations before making a treatment decision.

“Some clients leave, realising they don’t need treatment, they’re just going through a difficult life phase,” Ida reveals. “That level of honesty builds trust and long-term relationships.”

A holistic vision

As Dubai’s aesthetic landscape continues to evolve, Ouronyx is paving the way for a more ethical, science-backed, and holistic future. Whether a client seeks subtle refinements or comprehensive skin health solutions, the clinic offers a bespoke, integrity-driven experience. “A great aesthetic doctor doesn’t just enhance beauty – they help patients manage stress, cortisol levels, and overall well-being,” says Ida. “If you want to look good at 100, you need more than just injectables. You need a holistic approach to metabolic health and longevity.”
