For Spring/Summer 2027, Loro Piana is thinking less about dressing for a trend and more about dressing for life. Presented during Milan Fashion Week at the Biblioteca Nazionale Braidense in Palazzo di Brera, the collection titled Solutions For, builds on a simple idea that has long been central to the House: identify a need, then create something that answers it. 

That means solutions for staying warm, for days spent outside, for the golf course, for evenings, early escapes and long days by the beach. Rather than separating each of these moments into completely different wardrobes, Loro Piana allows the collection to move naturally between them. 

The starting point is a series of familiar pieces, including the camel blazer, cape and a little black dress. Each is stripped back to its most essential form and recreated in the materials that have become so closely associated with the house. 

As the season progresses, so does the wardrobe. Cashmere gives way to linen and silk, muted shades move into dusty pastels and sun-faded mineral tones, while the clothes gradually become lighter and more fluid. Coats keep their clean structure, capes wrap easily around the body and tweed jackets bring a slightly academic feel. Hunting jackets and field jackets introduce a more adventurous side, while tailored cardigan jackets, silk separates and chambray shirts make the transition between indoors and outdoors feel effortless. 

There is a practicality running through everything. Layers protect without feeling heavy, sleeves become shorter as temperatures rise and pieces are designed to move with the person wearing them rather than restrict them. 

By the time the collection reaches summer, the mood becomes softer. Crochet, silk pyjamas, apron dresses, shorts and gilets appear alongside swimwear and pareo-inspired pieces. Florals arrive almost like faded impressions of colour, while evening silhouettes become looser and more fluid. 

Accessories follow the same approach. The Loom appears in a new size alongside the Bale Softy and Extra Softy Backpack, while ballerina flats, loafers, sneakers and espadrilles keeps the collection grounded in ease. Jewellery includes agate and silver pins, enamel pieces and necklaces made with black agate and pearls.

The setting in Milan brought another layer to the collection. Inside the historic Biblioteca Nazionale Braidense, original sketches of Loro Piana archetypes were displayed alongside garments, scarves and accessories. Wooden library ladders became displays for bags and soft accessories, while walnut cases help signature pieces and sketches as though they were objects to be studied. 

Guests were also invited into the Sala Lettura, where fabric, tailoring, sunglasses and screen printing were explored through a series of interactive tables, bringing attention back to the level of craftsmanship behind each piece. 

For Loro Piana, the message for Spring/Summer 2027 is simple. Elegance does not need to come at the expense of practicality. The best clothes can do both.
