Highlights from Day 8 at Paris Fashion Week

As the anticipation for the final shows built up at Paris Fashion Week, Monday saw a mix of presentations and shows from emerging and established names, for a quieter yet inspiring day. From spotlighting regional craftsmanship to collections exploring transformation, here are the highlights from Day 8.

    Chanel

Chanel’s SS27 runway began with sheer, jersey-underwear-inspired pieces with soft and relaxed silhouettes, setting a light and intimate mood. The looks moved into delicate knits, beaded dresses, transparent silk layers, feathers and floral details that also carried a slightly masculine edge.

As the show progressed, dresses appeared in drop-waist silhouettes and formal gowns. The collection also introduced Blazy’s new invention, the “smoked tweed” that stretched and moved with the body, yet still carried the tweed look. The collection traced the journey of Coco Chanel through her iconic silhouettes before setting the direction for the house’s path ahead.

    Gabriela Hearst

For her Spring/Summer 2027 collection, Gabriela Hearst celebrated Afghan craftsmanship and the work of women artisans, bringing together a refined and highly detailed wardrobe. The runway began with clean tailoring, including relaxed blazers and trousers in soft, earthy tones. As the runway progressed, colourful Ikat patchwork, embroidered dresses and jackets decorated with small mirrors brought a rich, artisanal feel to the collection.

Towards the end, the looks became more textured, with quilted leather, knitted lace, and flowing dresses balancing traditional craft with modern elegance. The show closed with graceful white dresses with delicate embroideries, giving the collection a meaningful finish.

    Zimmermann

Zimmermann’s Spring/Summer 2027 collection is a romantic butterfly-inspired wardrobe. The show began with a cropped top and full skirt covered in butterfly and floral details, setting the mood for what’s to come. Sculptural yet breezy tops followed, alongside flowing dresses in warm neutral colours bringing an airy, dreamlike feel.

As the show progressed, the butterfly motif became more dramatic, appearing on sheer gowns, jeans, lace tops and statement bags. Tailored trousers, sharp denim looks, and sporty satin pieces brought contrast to the softer designs.
