Flying Kiosk: The Le Monde d’Hermès Magazine Travelled To Kuwait This Year As A Nod To The Maison’s Spirit Of Innovation And Imagination
Hermes

Smart tastemakers in Kuwait were invited to immerse themselves in the creative world of Hermès as the Maison brought the travelling kiosk of its iconic Le Monde d’Hermès magazine to the capital in May.

Envisioned in 1973, Le Monde d’Hermès is a biannual magazine that’s published in 10 languages with a print run of 600,000. Each edition is a curatorial adventure and features works by writers, illustrators and photographers, who depict the brand’s spirit of innovation and imagination through their distinct creative vocabularies.

The Spring-Summer 2023 issue has been designed like a collection of notes to echo its theme of ‘Astonishing Hermès!’ and showcase new collections by the Maison’s 16 métiers.

Between 3 and 6 May, this unique expression of artistry and craftsmanship was showcased at The Avenues, Grand Plaza in Kuwait City. Visitors revelled in the ambience and musical acts as they played games. To round off their multi-sensorial experience, they were gifted the latest edition of the magazine, a unique illustration created by a local artist, and a pot of fresh flowers.

Inspired by Parisian newsstands, the globetrotting kiosk has been captivating visitors in cities such as Prague, where it was first unveiled in the autumn of 2021. It has since travelled in 2022 to Barcelona in April, Singapore in May, and Knokke and Rotterdam in June. It also toured Tokyo, San Francisco, London, Hong Kong, Chengdu, Dubai, and Toronto before returning to Barcelona for a second consecutive year.

The Le Monde d’Hermès kiosk is a riveting reminder of Hermès’ dedication to artisanship and humanist values, and its appeal as a House of timeless objects since 1837.
