Arab Contemporary Design Studios to Know

Gone are the days when the Arab design sensibilities were defined by a singular aesthetic. Today, the design landscape is undergoing a cultural and aesthetic transformation led by contemporary ideas, forms, and innovation. A young cohort of contemporary design studios is defying conventional design forms, pushing structural, material, and technical boundaries, and taking regional ideas to global stages.

Here are six contemporary design studios led by Arab designers that you should know.

YEH Studios

Founded by Architect Yousef El Hadi, YEH Studios explores identity, memory, and heritage within contemporary space. The studio gained international recognition for their narrative driven exhibition at the Milan Design Week 2026. YEH Studios focuses on the lives and values of its audience to create designs that are centred around trust, sensitivity, and shared understanding.

Zaza Maizon

This Saudi-based design studio created collection pieces that will elevate your everyday living space. Furniture goes beyond their functionality, transforming into art pieces that evoke emotions, express distinct taste, and inspire imagination. At Zaza Maizon, furniture becomes timeless experiences that sit at the perfect juncture of tradition and modernity.

Studio Manda

Another Beirut based studio redefining contemporary furniture is Studio Manda, focusing on high-quality artisanal work and advanced design techniques and processes. Founded in 2015, the studio gained recognition for fusing international cultures with regional design. The studio carries out interior design projects and commissioned work, with experimentation at its centre.

Atelier L’inconnu

Atelier L’inconnu focuses on experiential designs that are beyond mere room dressing. Each piece unique to the studio, balances function, culture, and emotion. Blending tradition and technology seamlessly, every Atelier L’inconnu design reflects the meticulous human touch along with its technical mastery.

Editions Levantine

Drawing inspiration from its regional roots, across nature, architecture, and stories, the studio has defined an aesthetic that is distinctly theirs. With a colour palette that pays tribute to nature, Editions Levantine connects each of their designs to their regional environment, reflecting heritage, culture, and the lived-in energy.

Modu

Short for Modular, Modu brings a more funky energy to designs, focusing on versatility. Each piece is designed to blend seamlessly into the rhythms of your lives, with its quirky design forming a deep personal connection with its owner.
