Five minutes with Mariyam Al Qubaisi of Bespoke Atelier

A born creative, we get inside the mind of the founder of Bespoke Atelier to find out what inspires her

How did the idea come about for Bespoke Atelier?

I had a passion for creating unique, personalised fashion from a young age – I was always customising my own dresses. I want people to express their individuality in every stitch.

Did you always want to work in fashion?

Yes, the ability to express creativity and impact how people feel through what they wear has always inspired me.

You started in 2019 – how has the business grown since then and what was the biggest lesson you’ve learnt?

We’ve grown our client base and expanded our collections. The biggest lesson has been the importance of staying true to our vision while adapting to new trends.\

How does the bespoke service work?

Our bespoke service starts with a consultation, where we understand your style and preferences. We then create custom designs, followed by fittings to ensure the perfect fit.

Your ready-to-wear collections have quite definite thematic looks. What inspires you?

Inspiration comes from art, culture, and mostly, nature. Every collection tells a story, capturing a unique essence that resonates with our clients.

How do you think the UAE’s fashion scene is developing?

It is vibrant and evolving. There’s a growing appreciation for high-quality, luxurious designs, and more opportunities for local talent to shine.

What are your hopes and dreams for Bespoke Atelier?

To become a global name in bespoke fashion, known for innovation and luxury. We see ourselves expanding into new markets and continuing to inspire through our designs.

Can you tell us a bit about your next collection?

Launching at the end of June, imagine an accessory that not only complements your attire but also elevates your entire persona with a subtle, captivating allure…
