On 12 September, Emirati folk music icon Mehad Hamad will perform a set in the new indoor theater at the Abu Dhabi Cultural Foundation, located within the recently-renovated heritage site Qasr Al Hosn. The 900-seat space extends into an outdoor amphitheater and is testament to the foundation’s commitment to running a well-rounded arts program throughout the year, reported The National.
Born in Sharjah, Mehad rose to fame with his 2014 album La Tardini Hudud, which offers a remarkable melange of Emirati folk and patriotic music. Also among those performing at the venue is Iraqi oud icon Naseer Shamma, who is scheduled to perform on 4 and 6 Sseptember. You can purchase tickets for the concerts here.
