Caravan Hatta by Our Habitas opens its doors this month at Hatta Resorts, marking the brand’s debut in the UAE. The retreat is set against the dramatic landscape of the Hajar Mountains and overlooking the turquoise waters of Hatta Dam, introducing a new chapter in experimental hospitality that is rooted in culture, community, and an intrinsic sense of the place.
Caravan Hatta is guided by the philosophy of “Luxury for the Soul”, focusing on presence over pace. Through its analogue approach, the retreat allows guests to reconvene with nature and indulge in shared experiences and self-discovery. The property features 50 bespoke Airstream Caravans, including 13 Ridge Caravans and 37 Peak Caravans, each offering sweeping views of the valley or lake. Built with minimal-impact design and deep reverence for its surroundings, Caravan Hatta’s aesthetic draws inspiration from the rugged beauty of the Hajar Mountains. Earth-toned palettes of sand, terracotta, sun-baked clay, and soft stone echo the shifting hues of the landscape, while organic materials, including raw wood, woven rattan, natural linen, and textured stone, create a tactile dialogue with the terrain.
Inside each Airstream, handcrafted furnishings and bohemian textiles showcase regional craftsmanship, subtly nodding to Emirati nomadic traditions through layered patterns and artisanal detailing. Each caravan includes a queen bed with premium linens, a dinette, a pantry, a bathroom, Wi-Fi, air conditioning, and a private wooden deck furnished with handmade pieces.
Signature amenities include a communal infinity pool overlooking the mountains and an Observatory Deck designed for stargazing beneath Hatta’s famously clear skies. The retreat also introduces Caravan amenities by homegrown brand Dastaangoi, a bespoke collection created exclusively for the property that transforms everyday rituals into moments of pause and presence.
At the heart of the retreat is Madar, Arabic for “Orbit”, a chef-driven dining concept designed as a communal gathering beneath the open sky. Developed in collaboration with Paris Society Consulting, the international hospitality group behind acclaimed restaurants and bars around the world, Madar encourages guests to connect over food in a relaxed, convivial setting. Rooted in Emirati influences and regional flavours, the menu celebrates fresh local ingredients prepared using open-fire and underground cooking techniques. The experience is complemented by relaxed poolside dining and live barbecue gatherings set against the dramatic mountain backdrop.
Cultural programming lies at the heart of the Caravan Hatta experience. Inspired by Hatta’s natural environment and heritage, guests can participate in soul-enriching activities, including sound healing sessions, Arabic coffee rituals, movie nights and guided practices. Adventure remains central to the experience. Guests can explore the Hajar region through hiking and biking trails, as well as kayaking and paddleboarding across the tranquil waters of Hatta Dam.
