Formula 1 race week in Abu Dhabi is entering a new chapter. This year, alongside engines, after-parties, and headline performances, the programme expands into classical music with the launch of Yasalam Classics a new concert series introducing landmark performances to one of the region’s biggest sporting and entertainment events. Leading its inaugural edition is one of the world’s most celebrated voices: Andrea Bocelli.
Taking place on Wednesday, 2 December 2026 at Etihad Arena, Yas Island, Bocelli’s performance will form part of the Yasalam presented by e& entertainment programme during the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2026. Joined by the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra, known for its expressive performances and luminous sound, the evening promises to bring a new dimension to race week one rooted in artistry, emotion, and musical heritage.

The concert also arrives at a defining moment in Bocelli’s career. This year marks the 30th anniversary of Romanza, the album that transformed the Italian tenor into a global phenomenon. Released in 1997, the record introduced some of his most recognised works including Con te partirò (Time to Say Goodbye), Canto della Terra, and Ave Maria, and went on to achieve platinum and diamond certifications across more than 20 countries. Today, it remains both the best-selling Italian-language album and the best-selling predominantly non-English language album in history.

As part of the Romanza 30th Anniversary World Tour, Abu Dhabi joins a global list of destinations celebrating the milestone, bringing one of music’s most enduring voices into a setting more often associated with speed than stillness.
Produced by Ethara in partnership with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi and Miral, Yasalam Classics expands the Grand Prix entertainment programme beyond after-race concerts and official after-parties, opening the experience to audiences across generations and musical tastes. This year’s entertainment lineup already includes Lewis Capaldi, Zara Larsson, and Imagine Dragons, with additional artists yet to be announced.
Commenting on the launch, David Powell, Chief Portfolio and Strategy Officer at Ethara, described Yasalam Classics as a significant addition to the Grand Prix programme, adding that Bocelli was the ideal artist to introduce this new chapter and reflect the ambition of creating one of the year’s most exciting entertainment experiences.
