A. Lange & Söhne Introduces the CABARET TOURBILLON HONEYGOLD

A. Lange & Söhne presents a new interpretation of one of its most distinctive timepieces with the CABARET TOURBILLON HONEYGOLD, a limited edition of just 50 pieces that combines technical innovation with exceptional decorative craftsmanship.

Crafted entirely in 750 HONEYGOLD®, the rectangular case and dial introduce a refined contrast between the material’s warm lustre and a deeply black-rhodiumed surface. The result is a dramatic three-dimensional effect, enhanced by sculpted relief elements that stand out across the dial. At 6 o’clock, an aperture reveals the tourbillon, drawing focus to one of the watch’s defining technical achievements.

Manufactured entirely in-house, the dial is composed of three separate parts including the main dial and auxiliary displays for the subsidiary seconds and UP/DOWN power reserve indicator. Frames, scales, and the A. Lange & Söhne signature are carved directly from the dial material to create raised relief details before undergoing black rhodium treatment. Finishers then hand-polish the elevated surfaces, restoring the glow of honey gold against the dark backdrop. The process takes several weeks to complete.

Visible through the dial opening, the upper tourbillon bridge and cage showcase one of watchmaking’s most demanding finishing techniques: black polish. Carefully executed by hand, the process creates surfaces that appear mirror-like from one angle and deep black from another, a detail requiring exceptional precision and expertise.

The CABARET TOURBILLON also holds a significant place in horological history. Originally introduced in 2008, it became the world’s first tourbillon wristwatch equipped with a stop-seconds mechanism, allowing the watch to be set with one-second accuracy, an important advancement in precision watchmaking.

Turning the watch over reveals the manually wound calibre L042.1 through the sapphire crystal caseback. Composed of 370 parts, including 84 dedicated to the lightweight tourbillon alone, the movement delivers a 120-hour power reserve through a twin mainspring barrel. Measuring 22.3 by 32.6 mm, the form movement is tailored specifically to the rectangular case and finished with traditional Lange signatures including untreated German silver, Glashütte ribbing, engraved cocks, blued screws, gold chatons, and a solarised ratchet wheel.

Completing the design is a dark brown alligator leather strap paired with a honey-gold buckle, reinforcing the watch’s warm and sophisticated palette. Measuring 29.5 by 39.2 mm and 10.3 mm thick, the CABARET TOURBILLON HONEYGOLD becomes the 18th Lange timepiece crafted in honey gold and will be introduced in mid-May 2026 during the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este on the shores of Lake Como.
