Theater Days in Abu Dhabi presents “The Train Arrives In…”, a contemporary dance drama inspired by Leo Tolstoy’s Anna Karenina, as part of its curated programme of international performing arts.
Positioned as a platform for world-class theater and dance, Theater Days in Abu Dhabi brings together leading choreographers, dancers, and theater-makers across a limited series of performances staged at some of the UAE’s most prestigious venues.

At the centre of this edition, “The Train Arrives In…” offers a contemporary interpretation of Tolstoy’s narrative, focusing on Anna’s internal conflict rather than a literal retelling. The production explores the emotional tension between passion and duty, love and motherhood, expressed through movement, visual theater, and a minimalist scenography.

Presented in an intimate chamber format, the performance places physical expression at the forefront, where choreography becomes the primary language of psychological depth.

The production features internationally acclaimed artists:
• Vladislav Lantratov, Principal Dancer of the Bolshoi Theater
• Daria Pavlenko, former Prima Ballerina of the Mariinsky Theater and guest artist at
Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch
Together, they bring a refined and emotionally layered interpretation of one of literature’s most complex female figures. As part of Theater Days in Abu Dhabi, the programme positions the city as a cultural meeting point for global performing arts, presenting premieres, exclusive tours, and internationally recognised productions.
