Scent and Sensibility

Travel has always been shaped as much by the things we carry on journeys as by the places we go. A scarf folded into a carry-on for cold cabins, a book that only ever gets opened mid-flight, a pair of headphones that tunes out the world. These objects become part of the rhythm of movement.

For the French maison Henry Jacques, fragrance belongs naturally within that rhythm. The maison has long worked at the intersection of fragrance and craftsmanship, bringing together perfumers, glassmakers, designers and leather artisans within its ateliers. The HJ Voyage Étui à Parfums collection continues that tradition.

The house’s latest creation approaches perfume as something that travels with you. Designed as a compact leather case that holds three fragrances from the brand’s Les Essences collection, it turns scent into a companion.

Introduced in February 2026, the Étui à Parfums houses three 15ml flacons inside a small sculptural case, an idea that feels surprisingly intuitive once encountered. An olfactory wardrobe, quietly accompanying a journey from morning departure to evening arrival.

With the HJ Voyage line, the maison treats fragrance as something that belongs within the flow of everyday life, including the movement between cities. Small enough to slip into a handbag or carry-on, it allows travellers to shift between scents over the course of a day, changing fragrance with the same ease as a jacket or a pair of shoes.

The interior structure secures each flacon carefully in place, while the opening mechanism allows them to be removed and replaced without fuss. Each case is crafted from Italian calf leather and offered in five colourways: Tutu, a soft pastel pink; Sixtine, a clear sky blue; Linen, a warm nude; Nomad, a camel tone reminiscent of well-worn travel trunks; and Eclipse, a deep black.

For collectors, the maison has also introduced a rarer edition called Vesper, created from Australian Porosus crocodile leather in black and neon green. Perfecting the colouring process across the crocodile’s natural ridges required nearly two years of development.

It is designed to be a small personal case, somewhere between a jewellery box and a watch roll, but what makes the HJ Voyage concept particularly appealing is the way it reframes fragrance within the culture of travel.

The six new HJ Voyage Étuis à Parfums are now available at Henry Jacques boutiques and online.
