The most anticipated art exhibition in the region is set to open to the public this week, on Feb 5th and runs to Feb 7th. 

The exhibition, curated by Egyptian-born artist Wael Shawky, unfolds across M7, the Doha Design District, and a selection of public spaces in Msheireb Downtown Doha, the city’s hub for arts and culture.

The Art Basel Qatar features 84 artist presentations by 87 galleries spanning 31 countries and territories, including 16 newcomers to any Art Basel fairs. More than half of the artists presented in this first edition hail from the region, including Etel Adnan, Ali Banisadr, Simone Fattal, Ali Cherri, Meriem Bennani and Iman Issa.
