Prince Saud bin Mohammed becomes the first Saudi to be awarded Sandhurst’s International Sword

Prince Saud bin Mohammed bin Abdullah Turki has made history as the first Saudi to be awarded the International Sword at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.

Prince Saud, a graduate of King’s College London, was praised for his inspiring determination, courage, and talent demonstrated at the Academy. Most importantly, he was described as a natural leader.

During the Sovereign’s Parade on August 8th, the Prince was honoured with the Sword in recognition of being the top-performing international cadet. The award celebrates outstanding leadership, discipline, and military excellence.

Dr. Alice Burt, Chargé d’Affaires at the British Embassy in Riyadh, echoed the praise: “We were thrilled to hear of Prince Saud receiving the International Sword. This is a truly historic achievement and a proud moment for Saudi Arabia. His success reflects his personal dedication and leadership, as well as the strength of the UK-Saudi defence partnership.”

This honour reflects the rising prominence of Arab cadets at the Royal Military Academy, as only last year His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mohammed Al Maktoum was awarded for his outstanding dedication and excellence with the same award.

The ceremony at Sandhurst was attended by senior military officials, dignitaries, and members of Prince Saud’s family.
