The tailoring house bringing Savile Row style to the UAE

UAE-based brand Suited & Booted has been responsible for bringing a sense of British tailoring to the region since 2017.

Established by Ryan and Calvin Smith, Suited & Booted has grown from a niche concept into a luxury tailoring house with a loyal clientele, showrooms across the UAE and even an international presence in Glasgow and London.

In this conversation, the founders discuss the brand’s Dubai origin story, their philosophy of service and what’s next in their journey.

Can you tell us the origin story of Suited & Booted in Dubai? What inspired you to bring British style tailoring to the UAE?

Ryan Smith: In 2017, we saw a clear gap in the market for a premium tailoring experience that combined quality craftsmanship with exceptional service. Inspired by the tradition of heritage British tailoring paired with a modern twist, we set out to change the way people in the UAE experience bespoke tailoring, making it more personal, accessible, and refined.

What sets Suited & Booted out from other tailors in the UAE?

Calvin Smith – We are a luxury bespoke tailoring house that offers far more than just suits – we create fully tailored wardrobes. From our sharp formalwear to custom-made casual pieces, everything is made to measure with the same attention to detail and craftsmanship. Our British tailoring roots guide the quality, but it’s our personalised service and depth of offering that truly set us apart. Whether it’s a three-piece suit or a tailored polo, we create clothing that perfectly fits your lifestyle.

What does a typical client journey look like?

RS: Each client journey is entirely personalised, starting with a one-on-one consultation to understand their lifestyle, preferences, and needs. From fabric and style selection to precise fittings and final delivery, every step is tailored to ensure the client feels confident, valued, and part of the process. It’s a seamless, client-centric experience designed to build trust and deliver a garment that truly reflects who they are.

Your showrooms offer lifetime complimentary alterations. How important is that guarantee in building long-term relationships with your clients?

CS: It is extremely important to us to add a lasting value to each client’s investment, ensuring their garments can evolve with them over time. More than a service, it’s a commitment to our loyal clients and a way to cultivate trust and lasting relationships that extend far beyond the initial purchase.

Dubai is fast-paced. How do you stay ahead of local and global trends while maintaining your British brand identity?

RS: By producing our garments in-house, we can react very quickly to Dubai’s fast-changing trends while staying true to our tailoring roots. Our own production facility allows us to introduce fresh styles and fabrics in line with local tastes, without losing the craftsmanship and heritage that define our brand.

Can you share a few standout stories? Perhaps a particularly creative commission?

CS: It’s hard to choose an individual commission as there have been so many memorable suits for us – from crafting unique wedding suits for remote destinations to designing custom linings to represent milestone moments, each piece is special in its own unique way. In terms of standout moments for the brand, our global sports sponsorships have been especially rewarding, expanding our reach while allowing us to share our craftsmanship with a much wider audience across the world.

With boutique expansions all over the UAE and even Glasgow/London, what’s next for Suited & Booted?
RS: We’re preparing to announce a significant regional expansion, bringing a larger, elevated experience to our clients. As we expand, our ultimate priority remains to deliver exceptional bespoke tailoring while building strong communities around our showrooms, both in the UAE and the UK.
